Benign & Pigmented Lesions
Key points
- Seborrhoeic keratosis: 'stuck-on' waxy plaques — benign; sudden eruptive multiple lesions = Leser-Trélat sign (internal malignancy, esp. gastric).
- Dermatofibroma: firm dermal nodule, 'dimple sign' on pinching — legs of women.
- Skin tags (acrochordons) and Campbell de Morgan spots (cherry angiomas) are benign.
- Pyogenic granuloma: rapidly growing friable red nodule that bleeds easily — often after trauma/in pregnancy.
- Epidermoid cyst: firm cyst with central punctum.
